On this edition of Show Us Your Thesis, Alyssa Aisyah is sharing “The Sacred and The Profane: Restoring Cultural Resilience in Bali” along with what she hoped to achieve with her thesis and her advice for those approaching thesis year in a Covid-19 world.

Bronya (she/her) shares her thesis which is an exploration of home in her 20’s, looking at home as a temporary space and how we form our own identity when we are living in spaces that we don't own. The project explores how we create ownership or connection to a space through movement, using dance, weaving and craft in design generation.

Cameron’s thesis explores our understanding of the fictional in architecture, and the blurring of the real and unreal. Through an exploration of narratives, renders and physical objects Cameron comes to see that meaningful fiction can only exist through constant engagement with reality.

Following a short (10 month) hiatus, we are back in conversation with Val! After a few years asking the questions, it was Val’s turn to showcase her own work, inspiration and advice. Val’s thesis builds on a passion for cinematography, bridging film and architecture through speculative exploration of Cinema, Dystopia and Modernism.
